About

CCHC Art Paradise:

CCHC Art Paradise serves as a vital component of the Chinese Christian Herald Crusades ministries, dedicated to enriching the lives of low-income, underprivileged new Chinese immigrant families throughout Metropolitan New York. Through creative expression and artistic development, we provide a nurturing environment where community members can find cultural connection, personal growth, and spiritual support.

Our Purpose

We aim to:

  • Create an accessible artistic sanctuary that welcomes Chinese immigrants regardless of financial circumstance
  • Foster cultural preservation and expression through various art forms
  • Build meaningful connections among community members facing different challenges
  • Support holistic development through creative outlets that address emotional, social, and spiritual needs
  • Complement the broader mission of Chinese Christian Herald Crusades in serving New York’s Chinese immigrant population

Through art classes, exhibitions, cultural events, and community gatherings, CCHC Art Paradise stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity for those navigating the complexities of immigrant life in New York City.

Creating Community Through Creativity

At CCHC Art Paradise, we believe that artistic expression serves as a powerful bridge connecting new Chinese immigrants to both their heritage and their new home in Metropolitan New York. Our diverse array of classes are thoughtfully designed to provide affordable, accessible creative outlets that nurture both artistic skills and community bonds.

Embracing Cultural Heritage While Building New Connections

Our Art & Craft Classes celebrate the rich cultural traditions many immigrants bring with them while providing a welcoming space to develop new skills. Whether you’re drawn to the precise discipline of pencil sketching, the expressive freedom of color painting, the cultural significance of traditional Chinese painting, or the tactile satisfaction of handcrafting unique pieces, our Friday afternoon sessions offer something for everyone. With affordable group rates of $85/hr for intimate 2-person sessions or just $60/hr for 4-6 person groups, we ensure that financial constraints don’t prevent participation.

The Happy Baking Hours program extends our commitment to holistic community support. Each Saturday afternoon, participants gather to learn the art of creating delicious yet health-conscious desserts. Our emphasis on low-sugar, low-fat, and additive-free ingredients reflects our concern for the physical wellbeing of immigrant families who may be navigating new dietary landscapes. The eight-session course builds both culinary skills and community connections, with affordable pricing options including $40 per person for group sessions (6-8 people) or $65 for personalized one-on-one instruction.

Expanding Horizons: New Course Offerings

Chinese Calligraphy Classes will soon provide a meaningful connection to cultural heritage through the ancient art of brush writing. For many immigrants, these classes represent an opportunity to maintain or rediscover an important aspect of Chinese cultural identity while creating beautiful works that can be proudly displayed in their new homes.

Music Lessons will offer another dimension of creative expression, allowing participants to find their voice in a new country. From traditional Chinese instruments to Western musical styles, these lessons provide not only artistic skills but also confidence-building opportunities that transfer to many aspects of immigrant life.

AI Design Classes represent our commitment to helping community members develop marketable skills in their new home. By learning cutting-edge digital design techniques enhanced by artificial intelligence, participants gain valuable competencies that can lead to employment opportunities while expressing themselves creatively.
